Why refer for tailbone pain?
Doctors and clinicians,
I hope that you find the resources on my website useful to help treat your patients with tailbone pain. I originally found that there weren’t any available tools to help manage this condition, so I developed these resources and have used them to provide effective tailbone treatment for many of my own patients. My hope is that doctors and clinicians can use these resources to help their patients with tailbone pain regardless of their geographical location or access to other specialists.
But you might consider referring out your patients with tailbone pain because:
1. It’s just not a condition you’re interested in managing.
2. You think that another clinician may be better suited to manage the pain.
3. You want to avoid any liability of managing a sensitive condition, etc.
If this is the case, and you practice in or near Calgary, Alberta, I’m happy to help you out. I’ve set up my clinic to have most of the tools and team members needed to treat tailbone pains effectively, and I have a network of colleagues who assist me with more complex interventions. When you refer patients to me with tailbone pain you can expect to receive a brief report once I’ve assessed them and to have the patient return to your care once the tailbone complaint has resolved.
Tailbone pain is certainly a niche clinical interest, and my goals in this area are to:
A. Provide excellent care to our patients with tailbone pain.
B. Provide resources to clinicians who live far away so that no person suffers from tailbone pain unnecessarily.
C. Conduct clinical research on how to better treat this condition in the future.
Please reach out to me if you’d like to discuss a patient case or if you would like further information.
Appreciative of your trust and care.
Yours in health,
Dr. Giancarlo Carpino, D.C.
